Eddie Erlandson
As a recognized thought leader in executive leadership development, Eddie coaches leaders to modify entrenched leadership habits and expand their influence skills. In his 12 years as an executive coach Eddie has worked with over 200 senior executives and teams across a number of industries, including consumer products, education, government, military, high tech, healthcare and professional sports. He has coached executives globally in many European, Asian and South American countries.
Eddie motivates individual executives and their teams to make needed changes by linking business performance and strategic objectives to leadership and teamwork capabilities. He uses a one-year coaching process to significantly improve an executive’s approach to change management, innovation and communications. He also works closely with executives and their teams to clarify roles, build alignment around key change management initiatives, and overall improve team effectiveness so that challenges are openly vetted, problems are fully owned, and productive debate leads to alignment and accountability.
He also designed a “first 90 days” approach to support new senior executives, hired from the outside, to build relationships with key partners and stakeholders, adapt to their new company’s culture, and create needed change.
He has coauthored two books with Kate Ludeman: Alpha Male Syndrome and Radical Change, Radical Results. He also assisted in the design and validation of the Alpha Assessment, which provides coaching tips to particularly driven and aggressive leaders; this assessment has been taken by 12,000 leaders in over 15 countries. His consulting and books have been discussed in such publications as Financial Times, Best Life, New York Times, LA Times, London Times, etc.
Previously, Eddie was Chief of Staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was a vascular surgeon and co-founder of a wellness and executive effectiveness program.
With his experience in medicine and leadership coaching, Eddie has developed a unique body of knowledge about how the executive brain works and which tools are most effective in expanding leadership skills.
