Barbara specializes in leadership development, team building, change management and building strategic partnerships. She works in a wide variety of organizations including business, media, hospitality, mental health and education.
She has provided keynotes and training programs on strategic partnering and leadership for companies such as Shell International, Intel, Pellar Corporation, Nektar Therapeutics, and many others. She is a licensed psychotherapist, has taught graduate students at John F. Kennedy University and St. Mary's college, and has provided stress management consulting to a variety of professionals in high risk, including police officers throughout California.
She is widely regarded as an industry pioneer in the use of multi-source assessment tools. She is responsible for the design and development of ‘the rater team review’ as described in her article in Executive Excellence (August, 2002). This is a group process used to gain system-wide stakeholdership and support for the action plan created out of the multi-source survey.
She is the author of When I Rise: A Guidebook for Women in Leadership (2007) and a contributing author to Enlightened Power: How Women Are Transforming the Practice of Leadership (2005).
Barbara has a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and an MSW from San Francisco State University. |
